The Brooklyn-based pattern-maker, author, and all-around creative powerhouse Lotta Jansdotter contacted me earlier this year to design the promotional catalogue for her ‘Bella’ collection for Windham Fabrics. I’ve been a huge fan of Jansdotter’s work for years—if you’ve gotten a letter from me chances are it was on her stationary—so I was a bit in awe visiting her studio for the first time. But over mint tea and conversation about our mutual love of making things with our hands, my butterflies subsided and I took the opportunity to relish the fact that I was getting to creatively collaborate on this fun (and beautiful) project with such a cool, genuine artist.
