When I started my own business in 2008, I couldn’t have imagined the wild and rewarding ride that would follow. I had just purchased my first pair of Tory Burch flats as an I just quit my job—now what? gift for myself; four years later, I was designing her foundation’s website.
Over the past five years, I have grown a lot. I have grown as a designer, grown as an entrepreneur, grown as a woman, and grown in my relationships, both personal and professional. And as I grow, I become more comfortable being myself, both personally and professionally.
Authenticity has become the cornerstone of my approach to my business. I have stopped worrying about being someone for everyone and instead have realized that it’s much more important to be everything to someone. And as a result, those “someones” are the greatest clients a girl could hope for… And they genuinely appreciate what I bring to the table.
Five years in, I have had the pleasure of helping nearly 100 small business owners achieve their very own impactful, beautiful, and effective brand identities. Being privy to their struggles, questions, and occasional growing pains has given me unique insight into the world of entrepreneurship and has made me better able to address a small business owner’s needs in a sensitive and relevant way. Sharing in their passion, drive, and successes, on the other hand, has taught me more than I could ever hope to learn and inspires me to be better each and every day.
Most importantly, I have learned that doing what I love in turn allows me to love what I do, a lesson I hope I can share with everyone that joins me on this wild ride.
Thank you for all of your support. I look forward to continuing to grow my business and yours for many years to come.
Here’s to the next five!
